INTRODUCING A NEW WAY OF REPORTING
In 2014 we launched our new reporting system, Linc-Ed. Our aim has been to implement a robust system that allows the teachers, parents and students to access learning information via the internet in a secure, easy and useful way. We have tried to make the system as straight forward as possible so that all parents and whānau can access and use the application without being a computer expert.
The system is designed to build year on year so that you have access to comments, assessments, images and helpful resources in one place. As a staff we are excited about the possibilities this new report system has for us to share many different types of information with you to help you understand more about what your child is learning and how they are achieving across a wide range of areas in school.
At Thorrington School we take our professional responsibilities very seriously. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and refine the processes that help strengthen our school-home partnerships. One of the key ways to help parents become more involved with the learning of their children is through effective reporting.
We are very excited to be announcing the beginning of a new approach to reporting to our parent community. This new approach involves an online system which we believe will transform the way we report to our parents and students.
We believe that reporting to parents should be a natural part of the teaching and learning process and that the changing demands of our education mean that the traditional methods of reporting to parents no longer fit well with our current practices.
We hope you enjoy the new format of this reporting system which we believe will help us to keep you informed of your child’s learning progress in a more flexible and timely manner! We will be adding more information to the system as the year progresses and look forward to sharing with you the challenges and successes of your children as we learn together!
