A Brief History of Thorrington School
Thorrington School opened in 1958 as a full primary school. It continued as that until 1965, when it became a contributing school for Christchurch South Intermediate School, and now operates as a Year 1-6 contributing school.
Our School is proud of its reputation in all aspects of education, and enjoys excellent support from the local community.
Thorrington School is also proud of its encouragement of, and involvement in, developing musical skills.
We offer a balanced educational and cultural programme, emphasising academic achievement and the development of sound social skills and values.
We welcome parental support and involvement in the School.
