Mission
Learning together, to be the best we can be.
Vision
At Thorrington we will be the best we can be, learning together, developing knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to contribute meaningfully today and in tomorrow’s world.
Message from the Principal
Welcome to Thorrington School. We are a large Decile 10 contributing school in the heart of Christchurch. We opened in 1958 as a full primary school and continued as that until 1965, when we became a contributing school for Christchurch South Intermediate School.
Our School is proud of its reputation in all aspects of education and constantly strive to live our mission “Learning together, to be the best we can be”.
We offer well balanced educational and cultural programmes, emphasising academic achievement and the development of values and competencies needed for our pupils to contribute meaningfully in today’s and tomorrows world.
At Thorrington we believe that learning is a life long process which is a shared partnership between school and home. Parents are welcome and are encouraged to participate in any way they can.
Please take the time to explore our e-learning site or come in and see
us to find out more about our wonderful school.
We look forward to meeting you.
